Preserve Golf's

Top 5 Golfers in the World

(August, 2006, prior to The PGA Championship)

1. Tiger Woods

2.

5.

Wildcard Pick: Chad Campbell

The purpose of our Top 5 is to give a more up-to-date, short-term ranking than the Official World rankings.  Our rankings are more in the spirit of the college football polls, which attempt to give a snapshot rating at a given point  in time; and are designed to either recognize those who are actually playing the best golf, or those we feel have the best chance to win the next time they tee it up.

*Preserve Golf does not recognize players who use elongated putters in its rankings.  According to the most recent information we had, Vijay Singh was using an elongated putter. He would have been ranked #2 going into The Masters.
